Devils Tower National Monument

Devils Tower National Monument in northeastern Wyoming is a monolith made up of igneous rock, phonolite. The tower is held sacred by Native American tribes including the Arapaho, Crow, Cheyenne, Kiowa, Lakota, and Shoshone. Devils Tower was a location for the movie Close Encounters of the Third Kind.
