The small red, or pine, squirrel, Tamiasciurus hudsonicus, is found in the conifer forests of the Black Hills. Custer State Park is a state park and wildlife reserve in the Black Hills of southwestern South Dakota. A large herd of buffalos, American Bison, roams the park.
